Taking agri-tech options nearer to farmers

With a view to taking agri-tech improvements nearer to farmers, the Nationwide Financial institution for Agriculture and Rural Improvement (Nabard) has launched a pilot programme underneath which know-how exhibitions could be organised within the districts.

To start out with, the apex financial institution has organised three One-District One-Exhibition (ODOE) in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubnagar and Nizambad districts in Telangana on February 15, 16 and 17.

Nabard has joined arms with the Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC), an innovation promotion and advocacy organisation of the Telangana authorities, to organise these exhibitions, the place 30 innovators showcased their grassroot improvements to 4,000 farmers.

Aside from farmers, the exhibitions had been attended by self-help teams, extension officers and farmer-producer organisations.

“The market-ready and low-cost improvements are designed to handle primary challenges in areas akin to agriculture, irrigation, waste administration, and dairy farming.

For one, Khaja Moinudin showcased a ‘Multi-Crop Threshing Machine’, an economical answer mounted on an auto chassis that may separate seeds from the husk. Velle Srinivas, one other innovator, offered his product, Kisan Distant, a distant irrigation administration system which might enhance power effectivity.

Sasidhar showcased his instrument fertiliser injector, which permits farmers to use fertilisers simply, saving them the drudgery of making use of it bodily.  

“Farmers watched the demonstrations with a lot curiosity as they promise to unravel some essential issues that they face on the sector,” a TSIC government mentioned.

“The ODOE programme is aimed toward making a marketplace for rural and grassroots improvements. The exhibitions facilitate one-to-one interactions between the innovators and stakeholders,” she mentioned.

Suseela Chintala, Chief Common Supervisor, NABARD (Telangana), mentioned the programme demonstrated the potential of grassroots improvements and emphasised the significance of collaborative efforts in taking improvements nearer to the farming neighborhood.
