In Footage| 2024 Lok Sabha elections: Voting underway for 102 seats in first of seven phases

he 2024 Lok Sabha elections started on Friday, with voting for 102 seats throughout 21 states and Union territories within the first section. Over 16.63 crore persons are eligible to vote. The BJP goals to problem Dravidian events in Tamil Nadu and retain its strongholds, whereas the opposition INDIA bloc seeks to dislodge the NDA. The primary section contains 35.67 lakh first-time voters and three.51 crore younger voters aged 20-29. Voting will conclude on June 1, with outcomes introduced on June 4. Key candidates embody Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Sarbananda Sonowal, Congress’ Gaurav Gogoi, BJP’s Annamalai, and DMK’s Kanimozhi. Polling stations open from 7 a.m. to six p.m., with over 18 lakh polling personnel deployed. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar urged individuals to vote, emphasizing the importance of every vote in democracy.
