“Vigilant, and alert residents have been proactive in reporting of suspected fraud communications, through the ‘Chakshu-Report Suspected Fraud Communications’ facility, on the Sanchar Saathi portal of DoT. This helps the DoT in combating, and stopping cybercrimes, and monetary frauds,” it stated.

Residents reported some instances of fraudsters utilizing SMS, and WhatsApp messages associated to electrical energy KYC updates, and malicious android package deal package (APK) information, to govern, and acquire management over victims’ gadgets, it stated.
