Authorities reconstitutes 8 Cupboard Committees

The Authorities has re-constituted 8 Cupboard Committees with Prime Minister heading six of them. Out of remaining two, one might be headed by the Residence Minister and different by the Defence Minister.

Essentially the most highly effective Appointment Committee of the Cupboard, accountable for appointment of bureaucrats, might be headed by the Prime Minister.

Residence Minister Amit Shah might be solely member of the Committee. Cupboard Committee on Financial Affairs (CCEA), accountable for taking key financial selections, might be a 10-member committee.

Other than Defence, Residence, Finance, Floor Transport and Agriculture Ministers, 4 different Ministers – Commerce & Business, Schooling, Heavy Industries and Panchayati Raj – are a part of the Committee.

Cupboard Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, which recommends calling of the Parliamentary Classes might be headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and has 9 different Ministers primarily Residence, Finance and Well being beside others. Cupboard Committee on Political Affairs would be the largest amongst all committees with 14 members together with PM as Chairman.

‘Safety’ panel

Cupboard Committee on Safety might be an all-BJP-ministers-as-members committee with PM as Chairperson and Residence, Defence, Finance and Exterior Affairs Ministers as Members. Two different Committees — one on funding and development and the second on talent, employment and livelihood – might be headed by Prime Minister and can have 13 and 12 members respectively.
