Bomb risk on Air India flight, full emergency at Thiruvananthapuram airport

A full emergency was declared on the Thiruvananthapuram Worldwide Airport on Thursday following a bomb risk on an Air India flight from Mumbai, airport sources stated.

The flight with 135 passengers landed safely on the airport round 8 am and was moved to an isolation bay, they stated.

Passengers have been safely evacuated from the flight by 8.44 am, they stated.

The bomb risk was communicated by the pilot at 7.30 am because the plane approached the Thiruvananthapuram airport, the sources stated.

Subsequently, full emergency was declared on the airport at 7.36 am, they stated.

“There was no impression on life. Airport operations are at the moment uninterrupted,” the sources stated.

Particulars on the origin of the risk and different data are awaited, they added.
