ddressing the pro-Kannada protest on December 28, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar emphasised that whereas everybody has the fitting to protest in a democracy, the federal government can not tolerate people taking the legislation into their palms. He expressed concern over the vandalism of boards and institutions by the pro-Kannada protesters, urging them to stick to the federal government’s directive of getting 60 per cent Kannada boards.
