The Chennai Metro undertaking celebrates a significant feat on Saturday with the Tunner Boring Machine (TBM) Kaveri efficiently coming into the Adyar River, marking the first-ever metro tunnel beneath its waters. This breakthrough paves the best way for connecting Greenways Highway and Adyar Junction stations, enhancing metropolis connectivity.
Kaveri began its journey in February 2023 at Greenways Highway Station in Hall 3 contract TU02 between Kellys and Taramani of Part –II Chennai Metro Rail Mission. The Two TBM’s commenced from Greenways Highway Station to Adyar Junction Station (1.226km). And has bored 583 meters earlier than diving into the riverbed. Its companion, “Adyar” TBM, follows carefully at 250m and can be a part of inside 20 days. Each will tunnel below DB Highway and the long-lasting Thiru Vi. Ka.
