Low-carbon hacks for infrastructure – The Hindu BusinessLine

To hurry up the drive in direction of sustainability, the Ministry of Street Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has launched a hackathon — Path Chintan 2024 — to develop pilot tasks specializing in low-carbon know-how and superior development supplies.

The hackathon is supposed to determine and promote options to the challenges encountered by MoRTH in its push in direction of sustainability. The ministry goals to handhold innovators and know-how suppliers by facilitating the eco-system wanted to exhibit efficacy of an answer by means of pilot tasks, monitoring its efficiency by means of a mentor institute of reputation, and, lastly, adopting the answer.

The ministry can be inviting proposals for monitoring of development high quality, value-added use of processed municipal waste (aside from development and demolition materials), and real-time compaction monitoring and documentation of pavement layers and/or the development sequencing of bridges and different constructions.

Candidates can ship their proposals to MoRTH at 3-3.30 pm on January 31. The winners will probably be introduced on February 15.

The applicant should hand in a one-pager containing the issue assertion and the proposed answer supported by justifications and/or documentary proof, as relevant. The proposal will probably be evaluated and shortlisted by a five-member jury.

The jury will embody an officer from the ministry or the Nationwide Highways Authority of India (NHAI) or the Nationwide Highways and Infrastructure Improvement Company (NHDCIL), within the rank of chief engineer. 

The MoRTH chair professor, a scientist from the Central Street Analysis Institute (CRRI) or every other institute below the Council of Scientific and Industrial Analysis (CSIR), and two area consultants will make up the remainder of the jury. 

The committee members will probably be accepted by the Director Basic (Street Improvement). There will probably be a separate jury for every theme.

The winners of the hackathon will probably be awarded ₹1 lakh every in addition to the Indian Roads Congress accreditation charge for the answer.
