South Korean Simmtech to arrange ₹1,250 crore unit for semiconductor ecosystem

South Korean agency Simmtech shall be establishing a unit to assist semiconductor ecosystem at Sanand close to Ahmedabad at a price of ₹1,250 crore mentioned, Union minister for Electronics and Data Know-how, Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday. 

“South Korean agency Simmtech Co Ltd has signed an MoU with the Gujarat authorities to arrange a plant close to the Micron plant at Sanand. Simmtech has been allotted 30 acres at Sanand. “They may begin working within the subsequent three-odd months,” he added. That is the second semiconductor plant to be introduced in Gujarat. The primary semiconductor unit is being arrange by Micron Know-how. “As per schedule, the primary chip shall be produced from the Sanand manufacturing facility in December 2024,” the minister mentioned.
