Telangana asks Centre ₹1,779 crore mortgage for T-Fiber challenge

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has requested the Centre to offer a ₹1,779-crore curiosity free mortgage to the State for taking on the T-Fiber challenge.

The Chief Minister, who met the Union Minister on Friday, knowledgeable him that the State Authorities may mobilise ₹530 crore from varied monetary establishments for the challenge.

He stated the interest-free long-term mortgage by way of Common Service Obligation Fund (USFO) would assist the federal government full the challenge.

The State authorities despatched an in depth challenge report back to the Centre in October 2023,  requesting it to transform the primary section of NOFN (Nationwide Optical Fiber Community)to Bharat Internet-3 structure. The Chief Minister appealed to the Union Minister to approve the DPR as early as attainable.

The State plans to offer fiber connections to 63 lakh households in rural areas and 30 lakh households in city areas. 

The Chief Minister, together with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, additionally met Union Minister for Sports activities and Youth Affairs Mansukh L Mandaviya, and requested him to offer the State a possibility to host nationwide and worldwide sports activities occasions, together with Olympics.
